Important components in Lesson Planning

The student is like a blank slate and everything he knows comes from outside. If new information is presented by relating it to prior knowledge, it is easily understood and remembered for a longer amount of time. The information should be organized into manageable parts and presented in a logical order.

Interest.

Apperception.

The students receive all of their information from outside sources. This external knowledge is seen by the students’ unconscious minds. Learning is made simpler for students by connecting new information to what they already know. Therefore, the teacher should switch from teaching the known to teaching the unknown in order to maximize learning.

General Approach.

Learning activities take place in a predetermined order. As a result, the unit’s activities should be modified in a clear and logical order.

Correlation.

One unit is knowledge. Each subject should be examined after having been correlated into a single unit. Every subject in the curriculum ought to be taught in relation to history.

Precision.

The teacher should clearly explain the material. To ensure that students pay attention to each fact or component, the subject matter to be taught is divided into numerous facts.

Connection.

The students’ new information is connected to what they already know.
System.
New information or ideas should be logically organized in a sequential fashion. The specifics are distinguished from the generals, allowing students to see the connections between distinct facts or components as they work toward understanding the “whole.”

Technique.

The students use the knowledge they have learned in new contexts.
