What is a Daily Lesson Log? A Daily Lesson Log (DLL) is a crucial tool that helps teachers plan and organize their daily lessons. It provides a clear outline of the lesson’s objectives, materials, activities and assessments ensuring each class session is well-structured and effective. By using this tool, teachers can monitor student progress, stay aligned with the curriculum and keep lessons on track. When it comes to writing instruction, lesson planning is fundamental to developing students’ writing abilities. Often, students complete their writing tasks in one go which doesn’t encourage critical thinking or produce their best work. To improve writing skills, teachers should incorporate a multi-step approach into their lesson plans.
