Quarter 1 Week 3 Matatag Daily Lesson Logs | August 12 – 16, 2024 DLLs
Good day and welcome! Here’s an update on our Quarter 1 Week 3 Matatag Daily Lesson Logs | August 12 – 16, 2024 DLLs. Our goal is to keep updating and publishing ready-made weekly K–12 Daily Lesson Logs.
Aligning Daily Instruction with the Curriculum
Teachers need to thoroughly understand the curriculum and focus on teaching its content effectively. To achieve this, teachers should use the Matatag Curriculum Guide (Matatag CG) for the specific learning area they are teaching when planning daily lessons. The Matatag CG helps teachers design various ways to teach essential content, such as content standards (what students need to learn), performance standards (the skills and abilities students should demonstrate) and learning competencies (the knowledge, skills and attitudes students must show in each lesson).
Teachers can also plan their instruction using a backward approach. This means setting a long-term goal of what students should master in terms of content and competencies by the end of the school year and working toward that goal. By the end of the year, students should have mastered grade-level standards and be prepared to learn the curriculum standards for the next grade level. Teachers can ensure this by fully utilizing the coded curriculum. Daily lesson plans and logs should progressively help students master the curriculum’s content and competencies. Each lesson should have learner-centered objectives that align with the curriculum standards.
In addition to the Curriculum Guide, teachers can use various resources when preparing daily lessons. These include the Teacher’s Guide (TG), Learner’s Material (LM) materials from the Learning Resources Management and Development System (LRMDS) portal, textbooks and other supplementary materials like digital, multimedia or online resources including those created by teachers themselves. However, it’s important to remember that these materials should be used as resources to support teaching not as the curriculum itself.
With these guidelines, teachers can create effective lesson plans that align with the Matatag Curriculum and help students achieve mastery in their learning journey.
